Looking for some advice for the best place to look for a chevy 350. I'm embarking on building a Dax Tojeiro but I want to rebuild the engine myself so I can gain the experience and be able to say I did that, and get it looking right without buying a crate engine.I really don't want to spend more than £1000 on the engine cause I know it will take another £1000 to rebuild.

Also were is the best place to get replacement parts for it??

Any help would be greatly received.

If you get anything from summat beaware of import duty or taxes that you are not expecting. My mate bought loads of stuff from them and a few weeks later got another bill from either tax duty or shipping. I know he was peed off. If you look on eurodragster or e-bay i think you will find what you need on there for about half the price if you want something that needs a rebuild.

The classifieds in mags like Classic American and Custom Car will probably have ads for breakers dealing in old Yank stuff, plus places that sell the spares you'll need to rebuild.

I would like a big american V8, not to rebuild I would keep it in my living room and just polish it.

Check out Real Steel (google their website) as they sell cut-out motors for reasonable prices. I saw a couple of 350s for around 500 notes last week, plus a big block for about the same.

Try this seller, I scored one of him the other week. Although for a new builder is the newness of the block might cause SVA issues. Other than that, I would bin the GM injection and run megasquirt or a ye-olde carb.

Just buy on eBay - plenty of decent .350s on there.
