Hi
although I'm looking for some 'plexiglass' to make up side screens, if my memory serves me correctly there are a number of types of plastic glass - some safer than others. One, I recall, breaks into sharp shards, while another type bends. So, what is the best material for side screens that can be cut, drilled, won't scratch too easily, but won't break into pointy bits?

And then the next question....who sells it?

Thanks

Polycarbonate might be your best bet. It's tough (they make riot shields from it) but cuts quite easily with a jigsaw.

As for suppliers, try phoning round the plastics suppliers in your Yellow Pages.

Lexan make a polycarbonate sheet that has a higher scratch resistance. Just google for it to find a number of UK suppliers.

Screwfix now sell polycarbonate sheet. I recomend using 4mm polycarb. I made some sidescreens from 6mm ploycarb but bending it was a sod of a job. A friend used an old riot sheild, it was 4mm thick.
