What age are you Matt? My experience is that FJ are the best company to be with and also well priced on the whole, but they're not great for young drivers (well, you can still insure and insanely fast car in your early 20s with them, but they're not as good!)

I am 36 years old with no points and 9 years no claims discount and never claimed. I live in the sticks in North wales so quite a low risk is suspect.

I'm really quite jealous - lovely part of the country and superb roads!

Insurance should be next to nothing, I've been looking at things like a V8 Phaeton (and I'm 24, very little NCB, high risk area) for about £400 a year (limited mileage admittedly). FJ calculate their premiums on capacity in general (although I think there's an exception for BEC!) and Adrian Flux calculate it on a combination of age and value. I'd say even with a bike engine in there you should be looking at about £300 tops??

have had a few quotes with a massive difference in price
AF = £280 7500 miles a year
FJ = £850 unlimited miles
most probably will go with AF
