zetec 1.8 engine the best spark plugs help

Hi i have a escort gti mk6 the silver top engine now my car is running 146 bhp
now im abit botherd of what spark plug to use at the moment im useing the iridium plugs and my car has bean super chipt kent cams pullies
i had all this done in 1 go then it got set up on the dynoe with theses iridium plugs in
now my question is how many miles do you get out of theses plugs ass theses plugs have bean in now for about 8 month and iv done alot off millage on theses plugs and ass im useing car now seems to be useing alot more petrole than it did 5 month ago
is ther any plugs better that will give me better fuel mpg
so my question is what is the best plug i can use for my engine

Plugs make virtually no difference to economy or performance provided they are of the correct grade and aren't worn out.
The Iridium plugs should last 30k miles for the Denso ones, or a bit more for the NGKs. Have you done close that that kind of mileage in the last 8 months? If you think this the plugs are the cause of your problems then take them out and inspect them for wear or damage.
Also do you not think this would have been better in the Engines forum as you don't have a kit car?
