Hi Davi,

Not a recommendation as such as I have no experience of it, but Car Builder Solutions sell one in a kit for around £550.

And of course Ultima fit compact air con units so you might be able to get one off them.

Cheers Graham,

had a look at the CBS one yesterday, certainly one to consider, just wondering if there were any good ones likely to be found in the scrappy!

As far a scrappy jobs go, Diahatsu fit air con to their cars including the boxy Charade. And as they make some quite a small cars with compact bits (including 3 cylinder engines) they could be worth a look.

I have a unit similar to (possibly identical to) the CBS ones...and it works fine for me in my Strat rep. Using an ex-OEM unit could prove really awkward as they are often weird shapes, but I guess you could always re-package the cores. I think the main 'benfit' of the aftermarket ones is that the heater & chiller rads are interleaved, so they are very compact. Downside of that is you can't use them in de-humidify mode.

Well worth the effort of putting one IMO.
