Any GTM owners in here? I'm looking to buy a good used Libra next year, some time. They above all, seem to tick all the right boxes, but I need to know more. Are they a practical day to day car and do they have any weaknesses?

The Libra is a cracking car.

But make sure you know what you intend using it for. Metro brakes are fine for the road, especially if you like to feel what they are doing, but I wouldn't fancy it on the track. Likewise anti-roll bars...yes on the track, but not on the road thanks.
Beware paying over the odds for anything without a VVC engine. 1.4s are getting very cheap and that V6 boat anchor?? Well, who'd want one? smile

And you are not too far from the centre of excellence for GTM experience or work.

Do a GTM search on this kit cars here, and you'll get plenty of info.

I'm pleased with mine, it's much more road than track, but seems to go quite well on track as well.

ive got a gtm spyder (libre without a roof)

its a 1.4 k series which gives chea insurance but still a bit of poke

ive got the antiroll bars and i think the dampers are set up quite hard and the low profile tyres dont really help to make a soft ride but on smoth roads its fine

ive got the gtm brake upgrade (not too sure what size they are) which is good but can lock up if your trying hard

i use mine as an everyday car and its been ok so far

doug

oh yeah and its very low it doesnt look overly low from the back but some parts of the engine do hang out lower so you have to be carefull of them

It's nice and warm in the winter and I open the windows in the summer!

Any chance you can fit me in at the weekend for bit of a trim?

My old Lamborghini Yellow VVC one may be up for sale in the new year by its present owner, keep an eye out for it. It has all the good bit on, ideal for track or road with 170bhp.

Thanks for the info, guys. I think what I need to do, is have a look at a few and take a couple of test drives. Before I part with any money and the Banham.
Trouble is, I'm weak minded. I know that if I go and view, I'll want to buy!
