Westfield Roll Bar
Discussion
Hi All, I'm looing into buying a used Wesfield for weekend and trackday fun. The one I'm looking at has a roll-bar like the one in this picture - is this purely decorative or does it give some actual protection? I know a full roll-cage is preferable but I'm interested in the effectiveness of this particular item.
thats a cosmetic bar no use if you have a roll Im sorry to say , I run a full cage but an rac bar is the next best thing, if you keep an eye out on the wscc parts for sale there will be quite a few coming up for sale as there is quite a few owners fitting full roll cages at the mo. rac roll bars tend to sell for £150-£170.
You will need to check that the chassis has the brackets for the struts on the RAC bar, but if it has then it should be reasonably straightforward to bolt on. You might find you have to drill a couple of holes where the existing bar bolts on, the cosmetic bar most probably fits on with one bolt either side, where as the RAC bar has three bolt either side.
If you can't get one second hand, they are around £250 new from the factory.
Just thought, if the car is a narrow body, you may have a bit more trouble finding an RAC bar for it.
