"Kit Car" fatality

I was reading in the Surrey newspaper today that a man from Bromley was killed Boxing day in a "Black Kit Car" at a notorious blackspot near Banstead, Surrey. Anybody know what "kit car" it was? Sad.

A Lotus 7 club member passed by shortly afterwards and reported that it was a black or dark grey 7 type car, but not a Caterham.
No other details known of this sad loss.

Very sad to hear, hopefully they didn't focus too much on the fact it was a kit in the press.

Found this on the Times website from report dated 27th December 2007:

Yesterday, a man saw his brother killed in a car crash just yards in front of him. The young man was riding a motorbike when his brother, who was at the wheel of a kit-built sports car, lost control of the vehicle and it crashed into a lamppost on the A217 road at Banstead, Surrey.
