Ginetta G4 Insurance... Who do you use?

Help
Just had a quote from AON for a couple of different options on the G4 and was rather surprised.
Having just had my Lotus Exige insured with then as a second car for S&D only and used only as a second car for pleasure, with an estimated average of upto 10,000 miles a year. I have a full 10 years no claims and a clean licence. The car would spends most of the year in a garage that has dead bolts and a monitored alarm system.
They wanted just as much but for the G4 but restricted to a maximum of 5000 miles.
So for half the risk and mileage in a car that is no faster on the road than the Exige, They want as much for the same value of car.
Even on a second hand car with much less value it is not much better with even less risk.
When asked why they say that we don't take no claims in to account when quoting...
So I was wondering who you guys use?

Graham Sykes know about G4s and are ok.
A-Plan are doing some reasonable brokerage deals at the mo too.
O/T - how's the hunt going? Very keen on knowing how you compare it to the Liz.
I have found two G4 Coupes, a short Cockpit 1.8lt Zetec and a long cockpit 2lt Zetec. I will view the first one this weekend.A-Plan are doing some reasonable brokerage deals at the mo too.

I can already tell how the G4 compares to the Exige having passenger'ed in one coupe and driven the Paul Stephens Clubsport Car.
What is the better car? The Exige is.
The Exige tour'ed across Europe and up and down the alpine mountain passes effortlessly. It dealt with the wind, rain, bright sunny days and the aircon made 42' roasting summer heat in the south of France comfortable. It also had plenty of power, poise, composure and exceptional handling with a sound track to die for with its Stage 2 exhaust. Not to mention the supercar looks that turned heads everywhere. In the south of France Farrari's were two a penny which is why the Exige stood out so much.
In St Moritz a chap with a Farrari 360 wanted to know if I would swop cars for a day..... Now that was tempting. But I was leading a party over to Stelvio and on to Austria the next day, so I couldn't even contemplate it... Life is a bitch after all.. LOL.
So why am I after a G4 if the Exige is so great.. Hmmmmm
Got me there.... Maybe I should rethink this having said all that...
Well before buying the Exige I was looking for a long cockpit G4 Coupe and one never came up for sale. So I brought the Exige instead. But I kept looking at the pictures I had acquired off the net of G4's.
I have been luck enough in my time to own two caterhams (The fist one was fantastic. But the second Caterham was built brand new by Caterham, costing £ 26k and was not such a good buy, infact after 5 months I gave up and ditched it because it was so bad). I have also had an Elise Series 2 111s and a Series 2 Exige. Both great cars
I think the two prettiest cars ever are the G4 Coupe and the Original Lotus Elite.
I would say that the G4 is nothing like the Elise or Exige. Anyone thinking that they are close will be disappointed. They drive, feel and perform very differently.
I would say that the G4 drives like the Caterham 7. In fact I would say the G4 is a Caterham 7 with clothes on. Both the Caterhams I have had, had cycle wing mud guards on the front which was good for seeing what the wheels are doing. But I have been in one that has the flared wheel arches and you can't see what the wheels are doing. The G4 reminded me of this and the car felt exactly the same.
So I would consider having a G4 to be very much like owning a grown ups Caterham 7.
The only thing that does concern me about having the G4 is touring in the summer heat without aircon in such a closed environment.
Anyway..... Any more good insurance companies people could recommend?

Footman James did me a very good deal on my ginetta, very helpful indeed.
You need to get air-con in the G4 if it's a hardtop and you are planning european touring. Having passengered in one from leeds to london in august, the heat build up really is something else. Lack of opening windows is a problem, compounded by heat fromt the engine bay conducting through the footwell and gearbox tunnel. We both arrived looking like rejects from a wet t-shirt competition

Hi Jamie - trust you are well etc etc (Last saw you at the pub L7club meet)
I use MSM 01279 870535 - can't recommend them too highly for service.
I'm an insurance Clerk, but the NFU won't touch kit cars!
BTW - did you see Paul Bally's G4 - that was really smart.
atb Paul.

Yes I did see Paul Bally's G4. It was stunning, but it was a short cockpit and set up for his size. It was also not a Coupe.
I have been trying to get contact details for Paul Bally but he has moved down south.
Paul if reading this give me a call. Same numbers as before.
