The Best Sub 25k Cobra Replica
Discussion
Have always loved Cobra's but a real one is a little out of budget, even a dream budget!
Got some questions here which I hope will make this a comprehensive starting place for someone looking to buy a replica Cobra:
1. Best combination of engine and chassis? Personally, I am not intereted in having some undrivable 60 or 600 bhp car. I would be happy with something that snaps your neck good, and that is doable at between 300 to 400 bhp I think!
2. Which manufacturer makes the sweetest handling car of the lot? And if you had to choose one brand new, built for you what would you buy? Links please!
3. What are the possible weather protection options? Have seen some hardtops around for sale, but there seem to be issues with them fitting all models.
4. Insurance? It is a group 20 issue with all that power?
5. Is this the kind of car you really need a Route 66 type of road to enjoy, or are tight twisty Scottish bits just as fun (without fear of death!)?
6. Best place to shop for a ready-made, reliable and well priced used example!
7. Anyone here with some daily driver experience? What's the low down on really living with and using a Cobra replica?

If you're looking to buy now - this car is hard to beat if you're looking for authentic looks and handling (The RAM has back bone chassis like GD - handling is spot on and very much on par with GD otherwise Cheng from Thunder Road cars wouldn't have had the racing success he has
). Car is located near Brighton. Owner will consider offers near asking.

Is there a particular link you have in mind by any chance?
If you do a search on the club website for "which cobra" you will get loads of threads with owners giving their own opinions, normally totally prejudiced for their own makes. Get to the local club meet, talk to owners, visit the kit manufacturers, listen to the horror stories and the tales of success and achievement from owners and formulate your own opinions. Join the Cobra Replica club as the first step.
Cheers,
Tony
