Saw this little beauty at traffic lights in Bury St.Edmunds today. What a fantastic machine for a hot day!!!

I'm no expert, but I kind of assume it's either a UVA Fugitive or just a home built rail...

If the owner is on here, I hope you don't mind me posting the pic!!!

That is not legal! It needs wings to cover the tyres.

It looks like a UVA sandrail, VW Beetle powered. They developed the concept to use mid-mounted Rover V8.

When I got some SS exhausts made for the Midas Owners Club the people doing the work said thay had bent the pipes for the prototype. They were not too complimentary about the standard of design. Back of envelope with no precise dimensions.

There was something very similar parked in the hanger at Stoneleigh. Except that it was painted like a Tiger, and had a Tigger teddy on board. And it had a Porsche flat 6 in the back, and Porsche brakes ect. ect. That was VERY cool.

But does it need wings to be legal, I may be wrong but if there is no body work then wings are not need, or else how come all these bike engined buggy thingscan be legal.

Looks like the chassis has plenty of compliance built in.

took pictures of this bespoke exoskeletal design buggy, at Stoneleigh this year.

It uses a mid-engine Toyota Mr2 mk1 engine and running gear, and i think the design looks nice and simple for a one off.

It was parked at the end of the Midas Owners Club area. Perhaps someone from the club knows the answer.

Forgot to ask but when did you take the original picture? I walked past those lights, going to and from the bank between 12:00 and 13:00.

The helicopter body was there all weekend.
You need to get out of the beer tent more often.

Think it was an air amb/rescue charity thing.

Also looks like that steering column would be an instrument of death in a front ender.

That was a nice car - especially since the guy who designed it and put it together hadn't built a car before. He's hoping to sell some chassis (and took at least one order after the show).

Yours is the green MR2 based one? If so I love it, a splendid way for a rusty Mk1 to be reused. The "instrument of death" comment was regarding the car in the opening post.

What sort of weight is the finished car?
