McBurnie Daytona's
Discussion
Hi guys, when working in the states a fair few years ago a friend of mine had a McBurnie 'Ferrari' Daytona (Miami Vice) and whilst not the most authentic kit, I really loved it nevertheless - especially as it was based on a Corvette and my mate's one had a big block engine in it!!
Anyway, just wondered if anyone knows whether there are any of these kits floating around anywhere? I understand that Tom McBurnie was taken to court by Ferrari and stopped doing them, and certainly no other manufacturers seem to be making them these days, but it was the McBurnie Corvette based kit that I am specifically after rather than an SD1, Jag or Datsun 240Z based kit.
I believe a company called Rowley Corvettes in the states used to do something along these lines, but all lines of enquiry appeared to have dried up on that one.
I have been trying to do something with this for the last 3 years, so if anyone can help I really will be eternally grateful.

One of my favourite cars but alas no manufacturer currently makes them in the UK.
Best one was supposed to be the EG Autokraft one

There was a nice yellow one at this years Stoneleigh kit car show.
Only hope would be to find a ready built one for sale.

I thought as much
I've always been a bit reluctant to buy a kit car that someone else has built as you never really know if any corners have been cut - until having owned it for a bit. A friend of mine had exactly this problem, and ended up virtually ripping the car to pieces and rebuilding it himself.
Still, I'll keep my eyes peeled. Maybe a trip out to the states is required.
