Robin Hodd Trike Kit
Discussion
personally I think Its a beauty. Looks Like its got the front of a caparo T1. I think its unusual and striking and to to be honest it puts a big grin on my face that this thing could actually be road legal. I mean it looks so fast, even when its stationary. i applaud robin hood for this, hope it goes on sale soon.

Now look here; everyone's allowed their opinion, but please don't abuse the priviledge. However, one can enjoy the harmony of line bewteen the front wheels and their wheelarches. Admire the simplicity of form in the crafted headlamp brackets, and.....
Oh bugger, I've just realised; the whole thing is a joke!
Oh dear!
This just proves why "Replicas" are so popular.
Artists for form and engineers for function. Lets keep it that way.

This is what a nice trike looks like:-

Here are the instructions for the competition version:-

This isnt the final model, i dont think, i think that this is just a prototype. From what I uderstand in it still in the final stages of development and is to be fibreglass or similar, this means that it probably will be a smoother shape and not so angular. I think I read in a past copy of a kit car mag that it was to be on sale at the end of summer but dont take my word on that, im still not even sure if it is on their agenda. not too sure tho and still no official word from robin hood either. we can only hope...
Actually I'm quite keen on a trike. BUT it doesn't look anything like that.
This is what a good trike looks like:

always makes me laugh that for SVA you have to have little rubber booties over the (usually almost hidden) suspension bolts on something like a caterham, yet here we have something that has been designed with a red hot finned lump of metal as the main pedestrian impact zone This is what a good trike looks like:

Typical joined up thinking.I do think that these trikes are fantastically attractive. I also do quite like the Malone F1000 but these are very expensive. I have phoned robin hood today and spoken to them about it. they said that it was hopefully going on sale at the end of august and is going to cost in the region of £1300-£1600 getting one on the road. It is going to be powered by a moped engine but can and will be modified for up to 1000cc bike engines. big touring mopeds can have any engine from 250cc up to 500cc's. as it is a single seater and have a GRP body it will be light to so power shouldnt be an issue. This price should be a big incentive to many kit car fans.
Personally i think that their idea was to get youngsters involved in the kit car scene. I think it would be a great project for a 15 year old and when they turn 16, providing it has a 50cc engine it, they can legally drive it on the roads. then when the time comes they can upgrade the engine, some touring and commuting mopeds have 500+cc's. As a single seater car with a GRP body I think that it would be more than adequate with a reasonably high power to weight ratio, possibly more than some 1.6 or 1.3 pinto powered kits.

someone wake this fella up!!!!I am at college, and i like it, its not boring. its different from everything else, and it costs less than everything else. I am thinking about getting one. too many designers have to meet specific targets and so they are limited by the company who aproaches them. this isnt limited, and its a very brave move by robin hood. its a risk, and i like that. obviously not too many of you like the design of it but thats a matter of personal opinion. I cant really afford anything more than £1.8k to spend on a kit car but want something different and something that stands out, hence why i like this. its all a matter of personal opinion though.

Fair comment bud!...however i very much dought it will have many takers.I only hope it raises pulses to its owners...Only time will tell i guess.
It attracted loads of attention all weekend at the Newark show. It's so different it was a crowd puller. I was next to them with the MEV Etrike and spoke to lots of people who were very interested in these low running cost vehicles. I was only selling build plans though for £50 so the Etrike was popular but I reckon the Bullet had a few takers. If you dont like the shape you could always make it how you want it, it was cheap enough to alter with out throwing too much away. I must be going soft, I appear to be supporting my competitors now.
