Anyone know where I might source a compact true bypass valve for a heater matrix? I don't want just a cut off but a bypass - many thanks!

Isn't that basically the same thing, i.e. basically a tap? If you fit it in series with the heater matrix it's a cut-off; if you fit it in parallel it's a bypass. I hope you aren't using the heater circuit as your only engine bypass? Typically that will only flow a fraction of what you want.

No it's not - if you put a tap in parallel the matrix is still in the loop albeit higher resistence - I can do this but it's my last resort. I have a true bypass here i.e. 4 ports and it truly bypasses e.g. shuts out the heater matrix but it's way too big to get in where I need it.

The distinction doesn't seem important if the bypass is adequately sized, but if you really do want a changeover valve is this the sort of thing you're looking for?

By the way, why is it that you want to bypass the heater rather than just switch that circuit off?

Would some type of T valve work, ie one way leads to the bypass and one to the heater. Then just have an open T at the other end with the bypass and heater outlets going to it?
