rover 800 turbo donor

Does anybody know of kits that will take the Rover 800 turbo (T series - late 1990's) as a donor vehicle? I was looking to sell my Vitesse sport but am now considering whether I can make other use of it. Any ideas welcomed. Thanks

doesn't the phantom use the rover 800 as a base....think it expects the V6 engine though...

Thanks for quick response - yes, from what i have seen the Phantom does use the V6, unless others know better!

As far as I know the Phantom is nt available at present.

For what a Rover 800 is worth, I would think you would be better off moving it on and finding a kit that you liked first, then whatever donor it required

The Shelsley T2 uses the T series, but I'm not sure about the running gear.
It is best to do it the other way round though. Kit first. Donor to suit.

Thanks folks, as i suspected, not any obvious answers. Often thought when i had my westfield that the 200bhp turbo engine from the rover (which i have owned for many many years)would be an interesting combination in the westfield. Rather than get rid of the rover i just wondered if there were other opportunities. Obviously not to be!

There are probobly dozens of kitcars it will fit in, its just you will be the first to do it! Can it be mated easliy to a Ford type9? If it can, then basically ANY 7 esqu or Fury will take it with enough chassis / body mods.

Didn't Robin Hood fit the 'T' Series in the Super Spec??? The one with the horrible (IMO) yellowy stainless bodywork.

I seem to remember that yes Robin Hood did do one like that, I think it was up for sale for quite a lot of money?? Was it their demo car? Maybe worth a phone call to them.

• I recently saw a Robin Hood "Lightweight" for sale somewhere, surprisingly, unfinished! Ferg was you with me and Gareth at Eric's place in Zolder, when we nigh on bent a lightweights' chassis in half with our bare hands?? DANE-GER-OOOOS!

I must admit though the new Robin Hood ZERO does at least LOOK good.
