Going on all the Banham's I've seen, I'm afraid it's either not possible or will require fairly substantial skills with fibreglass, filler and sanding equipment!

Sorry probably not what you wanted to hear.

It is very difficult on the x21, as the mouldings don't fit the body very well. The two solutions are either, loads of filler, or do it the way he did on the BAT , where you use the inner metro door, remove the original metro skin, weld an extension piece and flange into the inner, and bond the banham door skin to the outside. You can get this quite well aligned.

You will aslo need to modify the door hinges to get the pivot points as near to the door skin as possible.

I took some photos and wrote it up as many others have tried and failed. using the metro door inner also means that you can use all the holes to re-fit the trim etc.
