advice on westfield please :)
Discussion
hello everyone, I'm new so please be patient!
I'm abit of a petrol head and have fancied a project for a while. I know a guy who bought a kit car project a few years ago and hasn't touched it so i've made some enquiries and he would sell it. The details are abit vague but its a westfield rolling chassis, 2.1 pinto engine with highlift cams and twin webber carbs, it also has coilovers all bodywork etc.
The car is almost finished just needing the wiring loom and a steering column and a few bits and pieces, he's after about £1500 for it.
So any advice, potential problems etc and is this a good deal? Would be appreciated, cheers

Sounds like a good price but be aware that the first buyer might not have done things to the standard you want, or need for the SVA for instance, i bought my Haldane as a part build which at first glance looked like it just need the construction carrying on, when i looked closer i decided that the best course of action was to strip it right back and start again, however you will probably get much more for your money buying this way than buying from scratch.
At that price I'd go for it.
Good luck

As I said I don't have all the details, but its been sat untouched in my mates garage for 3 years and the previous built it, so maybe 4 years at a guess!
Is this likely to be a big project? As the biggest thing I've done in the past was an engine swap,I'm willing to learn but I do lose motivation easily

Westfield Sports Car Club is a good place to ask. Go to the boardroom and put up a thread.
