Just thought about the Suzuki Samurai and this design came to mind.

Why not create a modern buggy out of the same Samurai/Jimny chassis ?

"Buggy" means different things to different people, but the first thing you would need to decide is what you wanted from the intended vehicle, what aspects were important.

For instance, in the vehicle in the pictures above, these is good ground clearance, and presumably good traction, but getting in and out is not going to be easy. I personally would reject in on that basis, although other people might not mind, and would consider the clambering in and out part of the fun.

I agree with you on the getting in and out aspect of the design being a little on the high side....the Dakar 4x4 based on the Suzuki Vitara has a similar buggy look and maybe a better entrance ?

A new Nomad or Scamp on the Jimny perhaps (that's if the Jimny has a ladder chassis?)

A modern bady Landrover defender look would be fantastic, and the Suzuki does have a fairly healthy following in 4x4 circles.
