Anyone ever dealt with a South African kit car outfit called Replicars (http://www.replicarssa.co.za)? They do Cobras, Speedsters etc. I'm astonished at how cheap their 356 kit is and I'm thinking of importing one now that Pilgrim are no more. They could be too cheap of course, or maybe it's just the exchange rate...

Pilgrim is not quite gone, in fact it’s coming back real strong.. The company was bought back by the founder/previous owner Den Tanner. I designed the Speedster kit and sold the project to Pilgrim about 7 years ago, after Den sold Pilgrim to Tony Holmes. Now Den asked me to manage the Speedster department in the re-born Pilgrim Company.
Production of kits and filling stock shelves will start soon after the Exeter Kitcar Show where I will share the Pilgrim stand with Den Tanner.
In the meantime all Pilgrim Speedster related queries can be directed to willy at lbcars.be.

Willy Lambrechts

This company seems to be the same as a crowd that were called Kit Car Centre back in the 80's. My Dad and I built one of their Lynx's at that time and the quality was pretty good and the service from them was also top notch. Not sure when/how the name changed or if it is even the same crowd now though.

Thanks. The guy running it is Johan Nolte. Not the same bloke by any chance? They have emailed me a brief price list and 3 pictures, but that's it so far.

Name does not ring a bell, the crowd I dealt with were based in a place called Jet Park near Johannesburg. Sounds very similar, when we originally made enquiries back in the day, they did not have much in terms of brochures etc, they preferred visits to the show room, once they have you down as a serious buyer though they were very good. But that was back in the late 80's so lots may have changed since then.

OP with only 2 posts, pops up to ask about Pilgrim.

then LBcars with only 2 previous posts, pops up to offer Pilgrims for sale and announce the resurrection of Pilgrim?

Worst setup plug thread ever! hehe

Well I say "GOOD LUCK" to Mr. Tanner and anyone who buys one of his "designs".

I'm not involved in any way (although I know both parties relatively well) but to be fair the OP asked about a South African Speedster, not the Pilgrim one.
And lbcars has been on here before in the past few years, under a different nick though (willythekit or something along that line). So it's a plug but not the worst one I've seen on here. biggrin

Willy The Kit is lbcars old log in - it hasn't been accessed since 2006 - so I would assume that it is a forgotten passwrod/forgotten account, so the new profile was created to post.

Whilst there is a degree of plugging going on here, it was in response to the OP rather than an out and out advert - and as it stands, I'm fine with it.
