Hi,

We have brought a speedster replica, pretty much fully built on a completely standard (apart from 2" cut out of it) vw chassis, brakes, etc. We aim to strip and repaint and upgrade the brakes, etc but before we do that we want to register it.

The car was allegedly imported 10 years ago from the states but we have no paperwork to back this up.

Therefore the chassis number is not known by the DVLA, nor is the engine number.

What is the best way to get it registered and avoiding the SVA if possible, as a personal import , just apply apply for a new reg, amateur build?

Cheers

I do not see how you could possibly avoid an SVA test on that car.

Yeah, don't want a Q plate.

Looks like SVA or IVA it is.

Doh!
