Just about sold my 450 Chimera after 2 years happy ownership and now I want to fulfill a long held dream of building my own car. I've dreamt about building a Cobra or somesuch but my finances will no longer stretch (just about to retire). My thoughts have turned instead to my long forgotten youth and perhaps consider a frog eye or the old MG TD or something along those lines (if I can't have the speed/sound then I'll go for the looks). My first question to this forum is whether it is sensible for a person like me (happy with spanners, never touched a welding kit) to look at something that is based on an existing chassis (which must be 30+ years old) as opposed to buying something with a brand new chassis?

Any input would be appreciated, thanks guys (& girls).

Should be easy enough. Swop a few panels and Bob's your Aunt!
