if anyone is offered a extreme 360 replica metalic grey with bbs multi spoke alloys reg j20 omb last seen in the stoke on trent area then please contact me as it's being sold without my permission.
the garage that has it has apply for my v5 and could sell it on.
trying to keep within the rules here but it looks very dodgy what the people are doing

by loop holes in the law.
if you put a car in a garage for what ever work you are having done, say pumping up the tyres, you get it in writing that the garage will do this for £10 say.
then if the garage say they have done more work on your car and that you owe them £3000 then legally they can re-coup there costs by taking or selling parts to the sum off.
you have to prove in court that the garage has broken the contract and that they didn't contact you about extra costs etc.(which they will say they told you , your word vs theres)
the garage have your car in his possesion so legally he can apply for your v5 via the dvla
they give you 14 days to appeal or report it stolen, only the police can stop the sale by saying its a stolen car.
once the police know theres a legal dispute then they say its a civil matter and its not stolen if you know its in a garage. get a solicitor.
even the dvla don't care if its a £10 dispute or £10000 they can't get involved only a judge can rule who owns the car.
it's a joke really, i now have to pay out big time to get my car back via solicitors etc .

Hi Tricky.
You say

"...if you put a car in a garage for what ever work you are having done, say pumping up the tyres, you get it in writing that the garage will do this for £10 say.
then if the garage say they have done more work on your car ......"

What did your car go in for and what are they saying you owe them extra for?
I am in Stoke on Trent and could offer help (If you can think of a way I could help), But I don't want jump in for the wrong reasons.

i was having a extreme ferrari 360 kit sprayed, he wrote down £2500 on headed paper and signed it, it was agreed that it would be done in between his regular car repair work.
no time limit was set as we got on well, i went up there 4 times and have emails and phone records.
now hes saying i haven't spoke to him for months and that hes charging me storage fees on top of the £2500, now its £8500!!
he never got in contact with me to tell me its finished and i have email proof that he said he was still working on it so the dates dont match up.

Who's got your car?
Feel free to contact me off the forum
info at v8cobra.com

Do you have an e-mail from him saying that the car is finished and ready for collection?
Indoor storage (I think) is about £10 per day. He would need to have had your car stored inside for nearly 2 years to justify those charges (£6,000).

I noticed a grey/silver extreme 360 kit for sale in the back of a kit car mag the other day. Is it the same one?

If so, why dont you get a friend to test drive the car? But not hand the kays back over?

update- went to court and i won! but hes already sold the car, it was on ebay for the last 2 weeks with it not getting its reserve(£12k)not that far from me either, it looked terrible , iam glad i never payed him if that was his standard of fit and finish!
it was offered to a danish guy who got in conact with me and has been touted around a bit, its been seen in shefield also at a garage that does kits also.
if anyone is having a kit built in longton stoke on trent. beware!!

so what's the upshot then? If he's already sold it, do you basically get it back from the new owner, or does he hand over cash etc?

Well you can only sell what you own, so he may have transferred possession of the vehicle to someone else but he hasn't sold it.
