Front Wheel Drive modern Kitcars

Is anyone still manufacturing modern front wheel drive kitcars, or is it a dying niche ?

Just noticed that Quantum is still offering the 2+2 fwd roadster.

The Midas Gold, Cortez and Excelsior are all Metro based fwd cars.

I just can't look at that car without seeing Noddy and Big Ears bumbling along...

i have just got one of these i look at it as a smarter beach buggy, going to put wild graphics on her see where you coming from as i called it a noddy car but they are fun to drive so what the hell

You could probably make a fwd Murtaya if you really wanted to, with a base model Impreza.

I imagine it would be great fun, and with some treatment could be made to look the business too, I just couldn't drive it in standard guise. I love beach buggies, had several including Manx - the jester lacks something in it's design that makes it look a bit... erm... 'simple' (speshul) to my mind.

I agree.........it needs a revamp to make it look more of a beach buggy.....or a track car, I'm not sure what it is that it should be......

Sad, but true.

Must be good fun though - I'm convinced the best way to make FWD work is to have relatively low power and even lower weight.

Are Quantum still doing the H4? That always looked like a well thought out design. I think the Quantums in general have been slightly overlooked - they shifted a hell of a lot of them in the mid '90s and they provide a great every day sports car. A lot more character than the default choice from Mazda.

I agree with you, but Quantums website doesn't show the H4 anymore......I wonder what happened ?

Parts (maybe rights?) of the H4 were sold to a 3rd party when the original owners/founders sold up back in 2001
