Carrying on from this thread http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a... about rebody design for the MR2 and MX5 (a lot of the photobucket pictures have gone, and the Veranti site link seems dead now)

Over a year on from the end of that thread, I think there are a few more options for rebodying cars now, Blaze have the Blaze F based on the MGF. And I might be a bit biased on this one as a Smart owner tongue out but I think the Smart Roadster could be an option, early ones are in the £4-5k range now and will keep coming down, and they have plastic panels over the basic frame already smile . There was the Project Kimber to carry on building the Roadster as an AC Ace, but this never happened.

There is the Michalak C7, but that is a Smart based kit, not a rebody (its based on the ForTwo) I'll try to add some images of my own to this (photoshop is my area, not really drawing like Italo/fuoriserie but its something I'd like to do).

Here's the MGF based Blaze F

Any other cars you think are viable now?

Daihatsu Copen perhaps?

Saying that what about an Audi TT, must be a fair with body damgage from crashes that could be rebodied

Wow that blaze F is an utter disaster in terms of styling. Have they ever sold any?

Surely the S1 Elise is now ripe for a bit tinkering styling wise.

Maybe the S2.
I reckon with some panel replacement they could make it look like an S1...much nicer. smile

I prefer the S1 exige to the S2 in terms of looks, but I've always felt that the S1 Elise looks too cute - too kit car like. The S2 had a higher level of visual aggression and looks a more resolved design IMHO.

Could probably say the same for early or damaged z3 or boxster then.

I agree that an MGF would make a very interesting panel rebody, and the Blaze F is starting a new trend.

I'm just wondering why it wasn't picked up earlier, for some of those Ferrari rebodies instead of the Mr 2? but it could still be used for other rebodies......smile
