1993 Zetec with Weber Alpha
Discussion
I had an April 1994 2.0 Zetec with the Weber Alpha system and twin 45s in my Tiger and it passed the SVA with no catalytic converter.
Check out this page and specifically look in the Zetec resources and documents sections for info on Zetecs, ages and SVA tests - if the engine is dated before 1st August 1995 then you don't need a cat.

cheers guys, I believe the alpha ecu is not programmable? So are you saying you both passed with the standard alpha setup/ecu/45s?
I agree you dont need cats.!
thanks
Graeme
Standard ECU but the carbs both needed setting up properly and different main jets and emulsion tubes, despite it being sold as a kit specifically for the 2L Zetec.I agree you dont need cats.!
thanks

I think authorised Weber places can reprogram the ECU, but it's not really something you can do yourself unlike some of the other ECU systems.
