Steering wheels for 7 type vehicles...
Discussion
Just wondering what type and size everyone else has fitted to there 7s and why ? I purchased a sparco steering wheel late last year for my tiger and have decided even though it looks nice its in fact not safe... its 260mm x 310mm and due to it being a little to large for the cabin and not being round i don't feel as quick on the wheel as i did before ! so im going to change it but for what and what size im not sure... any suggestions on a postcard.

I went for a 290mm Momo wheel for many reasons

I wouldn't use a smaller one but, I might consider a slightly larger one with hindsight. Smaller wheel means heavier steering and less chance of seeing any instruments behind it.

I've driven Sevens with smaller steering wheels and I really don't like them for a variety of reasons... greater steering weight, over-sensitivity (small movement of wheel translates to greater movement of road wheels), poor ergonomics...Really tiny wheels are sometimes necessary on race cars, to fit into very cramped cockpits, but I reckon you can go too far with road cars.
I agree with rob and sam.
I can`t see my clocks, but have turned them round slightly.
The steering when i had my 16"s on was terrible but now i`ve gone smaller wheels/tyres
it`s like i`ve got power steering!
Methinks a nice 280mm swede momo is next on the list.
(Although the current momo fits under my jacket)

Ok, there doesn't seem to be a great deal of choice out there for steering wheels around the the 280mm size, well not in a six stud pattern any how, so my next question is, can you buy a converter of any type so i can make a 3 stud wheel fit my six stud boss? or should i just buy a wheel that needs the holes drilling and be happy?
Hi Matt, how do you find the D shape wheel for correcting over steer ? i sometimes felt that if i was correcting the car the wheel wasnt there or i would catch it on the corner when replacing my hand !Thats half the reason im going for a different wheel, may i should have tried a smaller D shape wheel ?
