hi, im thinking of changing the headlights on my westy blade for something a bit smaller, have been looking at the dominator single bike light, but its not on a ball mount so may be hard to align for mot. has anyone fitted smaller lights for me to compare.thanks

I've changed 7" chrome items for dominators as part of my rebuild. There are enough parallel surfaces on the mounts that maintaining alignment while tightening everything up isn't a problem.

hi, its a nice looking light anyway. once ive fitted them il drop it down to my local garage and they can align them up for me just to see if there are any issues with them. thanks for yor advice.

Forgive the unashamed plug, but they are available with the swivel base mounting, I sell them on Ebay, item no. 320344056855. Or just go to ebay & search "small headlights westfield" if you check my other items I also do some rather tasty Projector lights too!

At this stage I should probably add that mine have swivel bases courtesy of Russ Bost!

My Furore F1 passed SVA this Jan (2009) with a pair fitted, so i would have to say they are therefore, by definition, road legal.
Light output, they use the standard H4 bulb same as millions of other headlamps, they throw a very normal looking beam pattern & as much light as any other non HID headlamp I would say.
I've only ever heard of one other complaint re light output & can only suggest it's a wiring issue, there's certainly nothing wrong with the light output of the lamps.

the ebay advert says "I can however advise that with a simple 10 minute modification which I can give details of on request they should pass MoT without a problem"

what modification you mean?

Rotating the lenses, which requires filing a new notch, to angle the beam slightly to the left.

i fitted such ones to my car some time ago:

1. the light output is a catastrophe!!
2. sure, they are e-marked, but the numbers on the lense indicate that they arent legal dipped beam and full-beam lights (however it comes that a H4 bulb can be fitted)
