I've just went and bought myself a megablade, but during the test drive the one thing that bothered me most was not knowing what gear I was in - I know you'll tell me its simple counting but I'm a bit thick, so have been looking around for gear indicators. It seems that few of these work well with a megablade, so have been looking at the Veypor - anyone got one of these in a megablade, and how easy was it to install? As I travel to the US frequently I seem to be able to get it for about £100 which would seem like a great price.

I have a really good gear indicator in mine, blue LCD display about 1" square. Will get the details when i get home. Bit hard to see in bright sunlight (no shroud, could make one) but ace all other times. Lasted 5 years so far. You WILL find though that eventually you will not need look a it at all. I don't.

Yeah, I thought I needed a gear indicator on my Megablade when I first got it too.

Only driven it 4 or 5 times now and wouldn't bother getting one to be honest. I don't always know exactly what gear I'm in, and rarely count them, you just tend to drive on sound and revs. Changing into 6th is easy to spot because is is so close in gearing to 5th, and rpm/100 is roughly equal to mph.

If you have time to look at a gear indicator your not driving it properly...... wink

Aside from neutral I find no use for one but I guess its a personal thing.
