Who to ask before staring a new design?

Hi All, I am thinking of starting a new project but before I start I would like to speak to someone who could point me in the direction of what correct regs I should adhere to from the start. I have the initial idea but don’t want a spanner put in the works when I find out I have missed something out, like doors or no doors etc.. Does any know who I can contact for such info.. Many thanks..

The IVA manual would be a good starting point as it is this test you will ultimately have to pass.

Looked at the stickys and there is nothing there!! I was trying to find someone I could speak to as I've quite a few questions and it's better straight from the horses mouth!! Would VOSA be the place to start?

The VOSA help line will only be interested in answering specific questions rather than a brain storming session on your design ideas and will most likely point you at the IVA manual or to really get rid of you the 'Construction and use' regulations (heavy going).
