Im looking for a small (2 person max.) off road buggy to drive about in the forests of Eastern Europe. The limiting factor is cost. I was thinking of a blitz buggy either a mk1 (fiat 126) as they are easy to come by in Poland or the mk2 (mini based).
Does anyone have any experience of these buggies.
Is there another manufacturer I should be looking at?
The buggy will be used infrequently and so I don't want to invest too much money in to it. I was thinking £1500 as a top end spend.
Building/welding something up would not be a problem. Bending tubes would be a problem though.
Any one have any ideas?
oh and it doesn't need to be road legal

go visit the www.fugitives.co.uk website and look on the forum, I own a UVA fugitive with a 1.7 alfa boxer 120bhp motor, and its cheap and lots of fun, admittedley mine is for street use only, so quite low, but they were built for hard off-road use.......there is currently a frame on ebay, see the for-sale section on the forum.
dont be scared off by the VW beetle running gear, they only use the front beam and gearbox, otherwise they are a full space-frame chassis. you will get something half decent for £1500 for sure
