London to Brighton Kit and Sportscar run

Has anybody ever done this? Is it any good? I am considering taking part, but the £79 entry fee worries me! I am no skinflint by any means, but after paying around £30 many times for the Mini run this seems a bit excessive when you do not seem to actually get much, apart from parking on Madiera Drive. Start from Mercedes Benz Brooklands (Stirling Moss will set some cars off), NO mention of getting a lap of the MB track or Brooklands Banking, you visit the Bentley museum which usually costs £6.50, and nowt else by the look of it. Of course, the atmosphere could make it worth the money, but as i am considering entering a couple of cars it could be an expensive (£158) couple of Rally Plaques and drive to Brighton.

always seemed a bit over the top.. There used to be a stop at a home somewhere which may have made a nice photograph but doesn't justify the additional cost IMHO.

I did it for the first time last year, and am booked in again this year - so it is not all bad It is different and the only event that I can get my wife involved in. Yes, the entry fee is a sticking point but it does make for a nice day out.
