Depends what you mean by exposed wiring, the loom on my Furore runs thro' the cockpit area, it's wrapped but has no other protection & this caused no problems at SVA, nor would I expect it to at IVA.
If however you've got bits of wire dangling from under the dash which are likely to cause the thing to self destruct at any moment I would say that is a definite no no!
