Hi guys and gals, time has come to replace the exhaust on my Xtreme.

The current one has been way too noisy for track days for some time and now has started to disintegrate. So it's upgrade time smilesmilesmile

I am after a buying a repackable can (6x28" or so).

Because the can will be much longer than my current one, I will need to get a kinked link pipe made up too.

Anyone got any ideas if there are any places in Herts/Beds/Cambs that can do this work?

Ian

Do you have a CEC or BEC? I heard that Haywood and Scott are eye wateringly expensive?

Its a REC............... Rotary engine Car smile

Its a stainless repackable silencer, 28 inch body 6.5" x 8.5" oval with a 3 inch bore. He made it in 2 days and charged me £200. Its quite heavy though as its made of thick grade stainless which i wanted. As you can see from the flames, A thin one is no good for me. It doesnt look as pretty as the one on the MNR above but there is only a small section exposed at the lower part of the sill which i had to cut out to fit it. No pics yet.

Well, an update for you all.

I went to Hayward and Scott in Basildon. They did me a new collector, link pipe and repackable silencer in stainless.

The difference it made is remarkable! Not only is it now track day legal at 92db, the new collector has made an incredible difference to the driving experience!

Before, there was a 'blurry' spot between 2000 and 2300rpm where it starter bogging down just before the main jets cut in. With the new exhaust it pulls cleanly through that spot and it seems that the mid range pull of the engine is way better than before.

Price-wise, not the most expensive quote I had and because of the improved pull and great sound it was well worthwhile cool

I'm glad to see that Hayward and Scott did a good job, looks really smart. If I ever need an exhaust doing I will go straight to Paul Gooderham, because he has done stuff for me before and it went realy well.

it's goog to know that we have a number of people doing really good work!

Price-wise it was 450 +vat for box & link & collector & fitting. Good value in my opinion.
