So, my father has a 1989 mk3 Granada, 2.0 sohc, that has been stored in "less than ideal" conditions and has a lot of rust, probably beyond saving (certainly economically) so what kits are out there that could make use of the mechanicals?

Nothing really. Nothing that's worthwhile anyway. When a donor car costs between £0 and £500 then you should pick a car you like then source a suitable donor. You could probobly build a Beauford of something, but all that is useful there is a Pinto and Gearbox really. Most kits use RWD Escort or Sierra.

i take offence at that - one of the Stratos replicas uses Granada brakes, hubs and wheel bearings.
