The gelcoat panels on my indy are really chalky and dull - I am told that they can be restored to give a new finish - has anyone done this and what products did you use ?
Thanks

T-cut and a lot of elbow grease will take off light fading/oxidisation on gelcoat, but the exposed gelocat underneath only seems to fade even faster. frown

The only permanent solution is to paint the car (specially with red gelocat, which is particularly prone to fading).

Don't waste your time with T-cut. Farecla make the stuff you need. I was told about it when I bought my Midas. Different grades available, G3 followed by G7 if I remember correctly.

Did you use a buffer ? all the panels are new i.e unfitted - the ones that are still in bubble wrap are fine the others look a bit dull and chalky - will get some g3 and G7 Thanks

Definitely use Farecla products,G3 should be OK ,using a buffer is the best, but it is vital to thoroughly wax the panels after cutting them back, this delays the chalkiness reoccurring,BTW marine chandlers usually have a range of "boat care" products as this problem is a perennial in the marine world due to the high UV levels ,if the chalkiness is really bad,it may mean painting is needed as Gelcoat sometimes will not "come back" to a good ,shiny finish.

Put G3 on with a rag thats soaked in it, then with a proper buffer take it off, the foam pad must be nice and wet.
Do this at least twice, then polish again with the buffer this time with a polishing mop head putting some turtle wax or similar in.

If you havent got g3 water and polish everywhere your not trying hard enough.
