There is a charity event at Bruntingthorpe this weekend and I seem to remember someone here saying they were taking a car on the track. However I cant remember who it was!

Any ideas?

'Twas me. We will have Phoenix R1, Caterham R400-and-a-bit-more, Fury zetec, Porsche Turbo and 15 other cars for you to have a ride in, including Atoms and Supercharged Mustang.

As part of my cunning plan to get the wife interested in kit cars, I got her in the Westfield drift car at Stoneleigh and she loved it - Any chance of you scaring her silly again for me laugh

By the way, what are the rules re. helmets for this event? Is it rent-a-lid only, bring yoour own or none required?

I would imagine you can rent lids there. Of course we can take her round!

I did have a spare helmet, but it got sucked out of the car at 80mph along with the intercom and smashed to buggery when my wife was trying to get comfy.... Good point with the germs though. I put a helmet on once that had been shared by about 20 people the week before and almost heaved.

I am hopfully going to get a few rides myself in the Atom and R400, purely for scientific reasons of course.

As far as I know you can just turn up and pay for rides. You have to pay an entry fee (we still have to pay even though we are driving). Search ASDA day on google, I don't image you cannot pay on the gate.
