Hi all,

I will hopefully be picking up a Chesil Speedster this coming Friday and heading back to Ireland with it. The car will live outside in Irish weather on my drive.

Can anybody recommend a good outdoor breathable tailored car cover?

I'm guessing I'm looking at spending around £200 to £250 for a decent one???

Thanks

Simon

I have spoken to Cover systems on 01933 410851. They make custom covers for Se7en sized cars for about £200. They seemed Knowledgeable and stated they made covers for Aston Martin. I got thier details from Kit Car mag.
Worth a punt!

Problem with a cover is that it is in contact with the car and will move/flap in the wind. Any road grime left on the car will then start to scratch it with the cover moving.
Have you space for a shelter something like this http://www.northerntooluk.com/products.asp?partno=... Much more convenient to use as you just unzip and drive out.
My Ultima had to stay outside for a while and it was such a chore getting the cover on and of there was less tendency to use it.

yes

They also tend to promote blistering due to osmosis if the car is painted (even the breathable ones). If you can't use one of the 'folding garage' type covers, or build a car port, I'd personally prefer to leave the car uncovered.

Cheers for the info guys, the temp garage isn't really suitable as I've got a drive at the front of the house and one of those yokes would look awful! I think a proper breathable cover from coversystems or covercraft will have to do.

(Just bought the Chesil today and am heading back to Ireland with it now, its so cool, have wanted one for over 10 years and finally have it!)
