Phantom are back!

But now as Vortex Automotive, keep an eye here www.vortex-auto.co.uk
It hasn't been quiet when they've been away either, suspension refinements, power steering now an option, different engine options including Ford 3.0 V6s giving 220bhp, a Volvo T5 vehicle is in development at the moment as well with around 300bhp.
Some minor cosmetic changes including a revised rear bumper design featuring more of a diffuser look, and now different interior panels available to give a more modern ergonomic feel.
Many other ideas are in the pipeline too.
So all exciting news !!

I assume you have an inside line on this as the site consists of a logo and text that states 'Vortex is back' & 'watch this space', and an email link - how would I know what it relates to as is and, realistically, who's going to sign up for more spam based on what's presented?
I wish you or whoever well with this but why should I watch this space - why not start a thread when there's actually something to see? This is up there with the 'under construction' page as a deadly sin of web design.

Totally agree, best thing is for the OP to say what he knows and to edit the waste-of-time embarrassing link out.I wish you or whoever well with this but why should I watch this space - why not start a thread when there's actually something to see? Apologies that there isn't a huge amount of info at the moment, the site is still being worked on, hence just the contact details.
I shall speak to one of the owners this weekend, and try to sort some more recent photos to show you all.
Have a photo here from Stoneleigh in 2007 for you:

Arthur - Can you please expand on your points that you feel were very outdated?

Just boning up on the kitcar design thread ( http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a... ) and found the following images at www.ricola.co.uk

It looks like the interior has also been redone, but the previous one looked perfectly serviceable. Is this the new Phantom?
I don't think it's dated so much as bland - it's pretty enough but lacks that vital spark: it's a bit sterile, needs attitude. Correcting this requires a fairly comprehensive makeover, mainly resurfacing: the wheelarches need a little more form, especially around the wheel cutout. The side intake could do with being larger, but mainly something more interesting than a plain oval inlet - study the S1 Elise / Exige side intakes as a lesson in how it could be done. The rear end is too soft, bordering on the amorphous - needs more tension and a set of contemporary set of rear lights (there are plenty of good ones to choose from) and a faux - or better real - venturi wouldn't hurt either.
