Does anyone know if there any kits that use the Renault UN1 transmission and a shaft type gear change linkage?

(I know the Tornado GT40 and Torero use the UN1, but I believe they're both cable).

What does the NF P4 do I know it can run the UN1 box. Ask Neil Foreman he's been around these for years.

Good point, there's various UJ's etc for rod linkages in their CBS catalogue.

Think the countach kits use to use the rod linkage on a UN1 box, most now change it to cable, so much easier

Interesting...I'd assumed that a shaft linkage would be more precise than cable - do you know if they lose anything by doing this? The reason for my question is I'm supercharging the engine hence upgrading my tranny from the original NG3 to a UN1. It currently has a shaft linkage which I need to modify as the UN1 is 5cm longer than the NG3. I was contemplating whether its worth the bother, or whether to change to cable and so far had heard shaft change is preferable as it gives a more positive action.

All I can say is I fitted a UN1 box on my Diablo rep with cables and it was easy, the countach boys I know if they can upgrade to cable, as the countach was older and the diablo builds by DC Supercars use cable now rather, so also do Parallel Design use cables too.
To know the difference have a word with Dave Harrison at DC Supercars, he's been in the game of these cars for years.

Apart from the unbelievably bad Austin Maxi, most cable changes I've met are pretty damn fine, and for me would be a preferred option.

Make sure the cables are man-enough for the job, that runs are as straight as possible, and where bends are used that they take an easy path.
If you need to make a right angle or change the the sense (push to pull or vice-versa) make up a bell crank.
