It's slippy out there today!

Popped out today for a quick drive in my Fury R1. 1 degree C with no heater or windscreen made it a bit chilly. My A048's don't like the cold weather, can't get any heat into them :-( Found I could spin up the rear tyres in all six forward gears if I tried hard enough.

I too went out today in my Indy Bird to check my new front suspension and it was quite slippery out and about. I got stuck behind a Scenic, a Z4 Coupe and a Fiesta. After giving the Z4 plenty of space I got fed up and I may have gone past all 3 cars a little bit sideways. Good fun, but an excellent reminder of how slippery it can be this time of year.
On the plus side though, my new front end set up is much, much better now that I have some decent castor and the wishbones are free to actually move up and down! It's also stopped squeaking, which is nice.

Its fine so long as you are sensible and drive it like you would a normal car. But you are correct, you can't put the power down. I have been out a few times recently and although haven't really hooned it, have still enjoyed the occasion. 1st gear has only been used through 1 or 2 dry tunnels, and it was still all over the place.
I think people mainly come unstuck (not only in kit cars) when they drive their cars in Summer and then think 'its been 6 months since I drove it' take it out in the cold and regardless of whether it looks dry, there is no grip for acceleration, braking or cornering.

I took the Tiger out about 2 weeks ago, was very cold and wet. running in the new Zetec engine so no going over 4k but still managed to spin the car. on a 15MPH left hander. found out after a huge amount of oil/diesel patch where I span. not damage when I hit the kurb than god. just need a new no plate screw now
