Stiffer spring rates

Upgraded the springs on my Fisher Fury R1 this week, from 180 front / 130 rear, to 225 front / 180 rear. Was sceptical that this would work but, it has totally transformed my car and I would certainly recommend this for a BEC Fury used on the road. It's going to help on track too :-)

Rob, what rear axle have you got. I have a Stylus with the escort axle, mine came with 160lbs on the rear. This was way to soft & crashed out on anything other than smooth roads. I fitted a 180 & tried a 200. The 200 was to harsh, although the bump stops were still being used heavily. I have just gone back to the 180. Maybe the set up is different between the Fury & Stylus.
On the front I have gone from 180 standard to 250, however I do have an ARB on the front. I dont have a bike engine by the way so my front is a lot heavier. Maybe I should reduce the front springs with the ARB.

I'm running 225 on the front and 180 on the rear. I too have just been fettling. New CXR dampers from Spax and they have made a huge difference. much more grip at the back end. My car is quite abit heavier than yours though circa 670kgs with Cosworth.
I'm running the damping on its lowest setting for the road and winding it up 5 clicks for the track. Works well so far.

My car is a live axle Fisher Fury R1 which weighs in at <450Kg with fluids and half a tank of fuel. Been doing some more driving today and I'm totally gobsmacked by the improvement this has made and in so many ways. The car just feels so much more stable and rides over smooth and rough surfaces so much better. As well as less body roll, there is so much more grip out of corners and on the straights. The car turns in better and steering feel is better too. Some of this might be down to raising the car slightly higher, 5mm at the front and 25mm at the back.
