Kit car Insurance for younger drivers

Good evening folks!
I have been lurking around on here for a while and have been waiting to get insured on my Lomax. MSM insurance used to insure young people as long as they have held a full licence for one year. As this time is now aproaching I contacted MSM to see if I could get insured and they have said their policy has now changed to over 21's only. I'm currently 19. For a little more info- Lomax 223 tricycle based on a 1981 citroen dyane 602cc opposed twin air cooled 29bhp its always garaged and will be doing less than 4k miles a year it's on an "x" 1981 plate. Now, heres the million dollar question. Are there any companies that are willing to insure people under 21? If not will i be able to put it on a classic policy? I am away at uni for most of the year but my dad takes it out most weekends to keep it running sweet (thats the excuse i get anyway)

When I rung flux a couple of months ago I'm fairly sure they said for kit cars it was 25 but im not 100%. They definately don't insure under 21's though as I would have remembered.

Do they think it's some sort of bike engined rocket because it's a small capacity maybe?

Not too sure tbh. When i rang them up in the summer they said that they couldn't inure anyone on kit cars under the age of 21. I guess as MSM have dropped out of that particular market though they may have changed their policy to fill a gap in the market although it does seem a little bit odd. I will give them a bell this week and report back with the outcome.
