Cycle wing attachment
Discussion
hello all,
i am in the process of fitting cycle wings to my car, i have got as far as actually fitting them, but have come to the conclusion that they aren't robust enough to be reliable, i made them out of 3mm ally and cross braced the angles, but they still wobble a bit too much for my liking.
anyway, could you please regale me with what material yours are made of and if they are sturdy enough for high speed running (mine is a track car)
pictures would be great!!!!!
here is my effort so far

Are those bolted on the wrong way round? Short bit at front, long bit at the back is how they should attach.i am in the process of fitting cycle wings to my car, i have got as far as actually fitting them, but have come to the conclusion that they aren't robust enough to be reliable, i made them out of 3mm ally and cross braced the angles, but they still wobble a bit too much for my liking.

The MNR ones look similar to the ones on my Spyder Silverstone in so much as they pass through holes and bolt to the underside. The side holes are moulded in, not drilled, and the bolts pass upward into threaded plates moulded into the GRP. No bolts or rivets showing at all.
Sorry for less than sharp pic.
Geoff.
