Hi,

I have just read through the braking parts of the IVA manual, i am trying to find if there are any regulations about distances and heights of the pedals. I could not see it mentioned, its all about mountings etc. But just to check with those of you who has passed an IVA...

My questions are:

1. Does there have to be any certain amount of space between the pedals?
2. Do all the pedals have to be in line when they are in their normal position?
3. Do all the pedals have to be at the same height when in their normal position?

Cheers!!

I don't remember seeing anything in the manual specific to your query, but the testers do have considerable discretion and if they think yoou car isn't safe, they will fail it. In general, it is good practice to have the throttle pedal slightly further away than the brake (the idea being that if you can reach the pedl that makes the car go faster, you can definitely reach the pedal tyhat stops it).

Brake needs an anti-slip surface too, like rubbers or a drilled/rough plate.
