Now then.......

I've just bought a car, passed it's SVA in 2006, but has never been road registered

I've got the mac10 and a load of other related paperwork, I'm guessing I need to IVA it to get it a V5 (although I probably won't as it's a track slag) but VOSA don't seem to know. They're off looking for some sort of precedent (or a reason to give themselves an easier life)

Fairly obviously, I'm looking for one of the PH massive to say "No mate you need a x21goodstuffthisSVA/IVA transfer form, here's the handy link to the printer friendly government site"

but then I'm always fairly optimistic

I'm fairly sure you should be able to register it with the SVA certificate - I don't recall there being any maximum time delay between SVA and registration - although 4 years is a fair amount!

Hmmmm, that's what I feared, although VOSA can't seem to give me a definite answer

Have you tried just taking the paperwork and the car to your local friendly VRO and putting them on the spot? If nothing else it would force them to give you an answer. They may take the MAC at face value and tick the box so to speak! Are there any other "complications" with the car?

Good luck
