how to do your own car?

i have been thinking of doing my own kit, just for myself ,a ferrari 250 swb on a porsche 944 like roy kellys gto replicas.
i thibk the 944 would suit the swb better than the gto, so how would i go about it?
would i be better buying a roy kelly and adapting it, or cnc a new body altogehter?
also i know most of the grp work by the companys are sub'ed out, who does this work?
