I went with my partner and it cost us £ 24 for the both of us to get in. This surprised me as I am sure that in previous years I have only paid £ 5 per person previously.

Got to say that it did put me off going for the second day. (I normally attend both days).

The show looked much quieter than previous years and was wondering if Stoneleigh is trying to make up lost revenues from no longer holding the main agricultural show there?

Sounds steep, but every show I have been to costs a fourtune, unless you arribve in a kit car in which case drivers only might get in free, £10 or more for a passenger. The days of getting in for £5 general admission are long gone ;-(

I went yesterday. car and driver got in free with a free show guide too. passenger cost £6.

If you arrive just to have a look around in a tin top then its £12 per person plus £5 for a show guide.

It is very expensive if you aren't showing a car. But i guess thats just what you have to pay nowadays. I thought it was a great event and got a few handy contacts. There wasnt quite as many cars as I had expected but there was still plenty to see and i saw everything that i wanted to.

I will deffinately be going to next years event.

I would never bother going to Stoneleigh on the Monday, half the place has gone home by 2.30 pm, including lots of the exhibitors!

I'd gone home by 11am. Mind you I was the first through the gate. Most of it doesn't change from one year to the next, so doesn't need to be looked at, I wouldn't buy anything from the tool stalls (expensive for xmas craker quality,) outside was far too cold, and a lot less club cars than previously, Westfield slaalom noisy, smelly and boring, the only thing I really liked was the Vortex (previously Phantom).

I didnt have to pay for my show guide and I came in a tin top? Got it free at the entrance from the car park.

Gota agree that there seemed a lot less on the club stands from previous years.

I was also loving the Vortex restyle.

Good effort, kinda says something about the marshals there. Obviously not fully fledged PHers. Although, on the other hand a real Audi R8 went in for free too. I think it was basically people who had interesting cars that people wanted to look at.

wasnt just the marshalls... I heard LOTS of 'experts' telling there mates why it was a replica all day!!!! lol

My favs were.... wrong seats. dull colour, poor paint, skinny tyres...

but the BEST... was 'you can tell by the brake discs.... they dont even LOOK like metal!

they are carbon by the way!

I think that is exactly it, Porkie may even have got in just because they thought it would be funny if people thought it was a kit. I got in on Saturday for a fiver in a TVR so did quite a few others too I suspect, then again the difference between a manufacturer built kit and a TVR is marginal anyway.

Not exactly true. A kit car you buy in pieces and assemble.
A TVR you buy in one piece and it falls apart. biglaugh

They really should rename this subforum to "moaning old gits" hehe

I had a good day out. Yeah it was cold but that's the UK for ya.

You should try going to classic car shows if you think that £12 is steep.

Premiership football matches? 90 minutes of 'entertainment' for £50 - 70?

Everything cost more these days.

I do think there should be a discounted 2 day ticket though. It seems a bit unfair to pay full price on both days.

I know, and I've probably been here a bit longer than you. The point I was making there, in an admittedly too obscure manner, was that they are holding it too early in the year. It's bearable for blokes on their own, and for me too, inasmuch as I saw what I wanted to see and went home. But people who would prefer to bring their families need to have tougher-than-average spouses and kids if they want to have a really good look around outside without feeling guilty.
