7 type car, westfield, robin hood etc

As many others on PH I am looking for a 7 replica and trying to gather as much information as possible. One side of me would like to go Megabusa turbo, the other just cruising around in a 145 hp 7...... I've had a lot of very expensive sportscars and it always was in the back of my head "what if I crash this thing...". A 5500 pound clutch change once is still giving me sleepless nights...(joking). The 7 replica style/type looks like a lot of fun and a LOT cheaper! I mean, if you crash it, worst case you loose your investment (or your life but thats another thing...).
There is a lot of cheaper cars available (unfortunately all far from the south coast so not easy to just pop by and have a look at), right now there is a Robin Hood 2b for sale on PH

looks like its a pinto, no information about what reg is is (might be a Q), nothing about carb type and a few other things. What do you guys think? There is/was a lot of cheaper cars than this one, but if it's well built, would/could it be a candidate for some serious track fun or is it to heavy?

At £5,000 it's right on the ragged top edge for a 2B with, as we must surmise from the text, a Pinto and no weather gear, not much good for track days either.
However a lot depends on how well built it was, and with what quality of components, and how well it has been kept up since.
They can be more comfortable than average sevens due to the extra weight and size.

Do you realise that that second post has doubled your posting rate? 
You should call by more often.
And at least have a look at some other cars.
There's a guy here who is involved with the southern kit car club, going to a meeting would give you the chance to look at several different makes, and discuss them with people who aren't actively looking to sell.

There is a lot of nice cars for sale at the moment, just not up for a trip to Cheshire to look at cars to return disappointed :-)
I had some previous posts but that was back in 2005/2006, I guess they have been erased. I used to own a Ultima Sports (R6 CMD) I wonder what happened to that, sold it way to cheap :-)

I expect they are cars Steve is working on for customers rather than ones he is selling. I've got several cars in here too, and you would be welcome to look at them, but I didn't suggest it because it would be quite a long trip.Well, just been out in a RH2b, turned out that my lower leg is to long so I can't really release the clutch properly, way to cramped for me (im 6.3 and around 240 pounds/16.5 stone), so I think I might start looking at Ultima Sports/GTRS and GT40 replicas again, makes it easier to browse thru the classifieds! There used to be loads of these for sale but not anymore..

Finished Ultima's used to be around 30-35000, there was just one sold (or at leat advertised) for 38.000, where have all the Ultima's gone? I sold my 1998 Sport in 2006 for less than 20K, with ZZ4, 50 gearbox, aircon etc etc
I guess people just like them so much they hang onto them.I built mine 6 years ago and have no plans to sell. My business partner also has a GTR.

yep they're lovely. My sports was a bit used (bought it cheap and sold it even cheaper). I testdrove a very nice yellow GTR while I still har my Sports, but someone else bought it before I could make my mind up. The GTR's are lovely.... I like the idea of all the tuning you can do for hardly any money. I saw a video online some time ago of a GTR with a BMW v12, man that thing was fast.

We can complete the build of our part-built yellow GTR to your specification and at a price no more than you would normally pay just for the parts. We can do this because we bought the part-built for a very good price.Or build any other kit for you.

That's well worth considering, having exactly what you want built in exactly the way you want it. Obviously not going to be as cheap as buying a ready built but tailor made is always more expensive than off the peg, and with kit cars the quality of the 'off the peg' option can be 'variable' to say the least.just a bit annoying, almost bought a trailer on ebay for it before trying the seven type.... I was looking forward to doing some trackdays, but if I dont fit... then... I might be able to fit if the seat wasn't adjustable, but then I will probably be the only driver, that could be a good thing though :-)
Anywhere on the net where information about length and width of the cabins on these seven replicas? Maybe I should just go to a meeting somewhere, og go to fareham and sit in a couple of those :-)
Ultima is nice, but thinking about it, a lot of money just for a racecar and the occasional trip have driven/owned a lot of fancy/expensive cars so the "i want to showoff bug" is gone.... most of the time :-)
