Got my Westfield!
Discussion
Picked up my Westfield yesterday!
SEiW with 1.6 Toyota 4AGE.
168bhp - Raw engineering Trac Pac 1
45mm Dellortos, CAMS, lightened flywheel, OMEX 100 ECU.
Suspension was recently replaced, and set up by a local company.
652kg with driver and fuel ballast.
Car was built by an engineer from Tyrrel motorsport in 1994. Looks like a great build, chassis still in great condition. In 2008 the previous owner bought it and used it for the Westfield Speed Series where he won the 2009 novice and class A titles. He was running Jenvy throttle bodies, and an LSD, but he swapped those out for the spec I wanted.
Speedo cable is broken so need to look at getting an electronic speedo or getting down the tunnel and installing an angle drive.
Also sometimes coming back to idle the engine races... seems intermittent. Lots of popping and banging from exhaust so I think I need to get the carbs looked at... tuned on a rolling road?
Bloody love it!!

45 DCOEs are big carburettors for that size of engine, it's hardly surprising it's not running entirely smoothly, that's the kind of situation for which fuel injection is ideal. I expect a good rolling road session would help somewhat, at least you will know what is and isn't possible (which is where the skill and experience of the operator is so important).
Interesting. It's poor below 3000rpm but much smoother after that.
I have loads of questions now. The previous owner had the rear suspension very soft, and 2-up on a bumpy road it's bottomng out smewhere.
If I add a couple of turns to rear preloaded is this going to upset the weighting/geometry, which has previously been professionally set up for one person to compete in sprints.
