Carlton Commando headlights?

I have a pair of new headlights that were for a Carlton Commando which never got built, anyone know what these would have been off? I had a feeling they might be Vauxhall of some sort?.......Martin

As the car is based on cortina running gear, cortina ?

Thanks for the quick reply, no these seem to be much bigger than Cortina units, i`ve had a few mk3/4/5 Cortin`s in my time and these are difinatly much larger......Martin

From this link (PDF of original Commando brochure) and my memory they look like they might be old Talbot ones - Samba / (late) Sunbeam / Horizon? Or maybe even a late Avenger?

Off the top of my head, I can't think of anything else in-period with that style / size of light.

Actually, editing-whilst-typing, some Vauxhalls had similar lighting.

Have you tried the Carlton Owners' Club. There's a member ("A.Shelton") who has one and has a lot of information which he's promising to upload to the site at some point - might be worth dropping him a line?

Thanks for the suggestions, i have already sent an e-mail to the guy at the Carlton club, i`m sure he could supply the info if he gets back to me........Martin
